ReplyDelete1)_I listened to Aurora's song Black Water Lilies on medium difficulty. She is my favorite singer. Like the song mentioned, I think it is very beautiful.
2- My biggest difficulty is grammar, since I have a bad memory and forget how words are spelled. My strategies for improvement are:
a)_Make vocabulary lists of new words, their meanings, and when they are used.
b)_Write, either by copying from a text, but the idea is to make seeing those words a daily occurrence.
c)_Watching educational videos on English structures and making simple sentences.
d)_Using the links in the grammar block, as there are simple tests.
e)_Writing poems in English.
3)_I find all grammar in general difficult, not to learn but to remember.
4)_I clicked on the link for “English Central Video” and watched the video called “Coming home for Christmas.” It went well; I understood most of the words.
5)_I asked the AI about some writing structures, since I wrote this workshop first in Spanish and then translated it word for word.
6)_I clicked on the “Listen a minute” link and listened to the music and its importance, as well as the meaning and significance of these.
7)_I read and listened to the story “Blood Drive,” written and narrated by John Grisham. I like the fact that they narrate the story to you and at the same time you can read it; I really like that dynamic.

ReplyDelete1. I entered Lyrics Training and chose the song “Lemon Tree” by Fool’s Garden. I completed the lyrics in medium level. I like this song because it is calm and easy to understand. I enjoy pop music because it helps me learn new words.
2. My biggest difficulty is remembering vocabulary and some grammar rules. My strategies to improve are:
A. Study new words every day and write them in sentences.

3. I entered English Page to review the simple past tense. I practiced regular and irregular verbs. I learned that we use the past tense to talk about finished actions in the past. The exercises helped me understand the structure better.
4. I used English Central Videos and watched a video about hobbies and free time. I listened carefully and repeated the sentences. My listening was good, but I needed to repeat some parts. My pronunciation improved with practice.
5. I tried the AI app Loora to practice conversations. I talked about university and my favorite activities. The app corrected my mistakes and helped me organize my sentences better.
6. I used Stimuler to practice speaking. I completed a short activity about daily routines. The app corrected my pronunciation and helped me speak more fluently.
7. I listened to a story on Storynory called “The Lion and the Mouse.” The story teaches that everyone can help others, no matter how small they are. I liked listening and reading at the same time.
8. I used Natural Readers to practice a paragraph for a presentation. Then I recorded my voice and compared it. I noticed I need to improve some sounds, especially the “th” sound.

5. I downloaded Loora AI to practice English. I chose a warm voice and started practicing. I talked about my day and my hobbies. The app corrected my mistakes and helped me speak with more confidence.

as well as its relevance in life.
7. I read and listened to the story "Jerry Decided To Buy a Gun." History shows us that idealizing what we see in movies can lead us to make impulsive and dangerous decisions. I loved the dynamic of reading and listening to the story.

5. I used Duolingo on my cell phone. I practiced basic conversations and greetings in formal and informal contexts.
6. I did a listening activity about a weather report. I understood the main information, especially the temperature and clothing recommendations.

I listened to “The Tortoise and the Hare.” It is a story about a race between a fast rabbit and a slow turtle. The turtle wins because he never gives up.
8. For the pronunciation activity, I worked with the sentence: “Learning a new language is an adventure.” First, I listened to the audio using Natural Reader to focus on stress and intonation. After that, I recorded my voice on Vocaroo. The result was good overall, although I noticed I still need to improve the pronunciation of the word “adventure.”

ReplyDelete1.) I listened to "Rewrite the Stars" on medium difficulty. I find it really hard to listen and fill in the gaps in the songs because my English is mid, but I try. On the other hand, I listen to music of almost every genre.
2.) My biggest problem with the language is prepositions and listening comprehension; I simply can't remember the word order and I struggle to understand it. My strategies for improvement are:
a. Watch movies in English with Spanish subtitles and then watch them again with English subtitles
b. Fill in mini cards with unknown words and their translation.
c. Practicing speaking with Friends or IA
d. Reading comics, manga, news; in English.
e. Write on a piece of paper and listen to songs in English, noting down the words that I find most difficult to understand.
3.) I entered the to the English website to review and practice regular and irregular verbs and understand them better. I tried doing grammar exercises, but I'm having a lot of trouble remembering them.
4.) I saw a video on English Central about "When is your job interview?". I didn't understand most of it, but I repeated some parts to improve my comprehension.
5.) I used Loora to practice grammar in everyday sentences. The app corrected my mistakes, but I still struggle to understand it.
6.) I chose the ESL video link; it's simple and easy to understand. I was able to do listening comprehension tests to improve my listening skills, although I'm still making mistakes.
7.) I listened and read the story of "A missing cat." This story recounts Mrs. Brown's desperation and efforts to find his son.
8.) I used Natural Reader to store a portion of the story "A missed cat" and then used vocaroo to listen to how similar my pronunciation was, but I realized I have a lot to improve.

ReplyDelete1) The type of music I like to listen to in English is pop. I like it because the songs have very beautiful lyrics that talk about love and also other romantic things. I entered Lyrics Training and listened to “If We Have Each Other” by Alec Benjamin at an intermediate level, completing the missing spaces. It was a little difficult because the song is a bit fast, but I completed it by listening very carefully.
2) One of the difficulties when learning English is that I do not have much vocabulary. I also feel lazy sometimes or I do not have much motivation to learn because I get frustrated very easily. The strategies I will use are:
* I am going to be patient, because learning a language is not easy and it does not happen overnight. I will be persistent and learn at my own pace, using things that catch my attention, so I can enjoy learning and not give up.
* I will choose songs and first learn their meaning in Spanish, and after that I will listen to them in English, making a comparison and trying to translate.
* I will look for educational images that have common texts used often in informal conversations, because I want to learn that and not only focus on formal language.
3) I entered an online grammar website and did some exercises on the simple present with positive sentences. I also did a level 2 test on the present progressive. I do not think it was very difficult; I did it very well and had almost no mistakes.
4) I entered Ororo TV and watched the video “How Populations Grow and Change: Crash Course Geography #33”. My listening comprehension was not bad, but not very good either. My pronunciation was a little bad; I do not have much fluency and I speak like a slow and robotic speaker.
5) I used Loora to practice words, their meanings, and their pronunciation. The pronunciation was a little difficult.
6) I entered ELLLO and did the activity “100+ Grammar Conversations, Be Verbs - Introductions”.
7) I read “A Bad Case of Stripes” read by Sean Astin. I tried to relate the subtitle words with what he was saying, but even so, I understood very little.
8) I used Howjsay to learn how to pronounce basic words and necessary phrases, like asking where the bathroom is and directions.

4. I visited the "English Central Video" link and watched a video called Compliments, which is about socializing. I understood most of the video and learned new phrases I could use in my daily life. Listening to the audio was a bit difficult, but by reading the English subtitles I understood most of the sentences.
5. I used the AI app Loora to practice vocabulary and form sentences about what I do throughout the day, both inside and outside the university.
6. I visited the site Escucha un Minuto and listened to an audio about "being married," from which I learned new vocabulary and found it very interesting.
7. The story I listened to and read at the same time was "It's Better to Have Bad Luck", about how Sam, the main character, won $120,000 and lost it all right after winning the lottery — he was hit by a car and lost all his money. I loved it because you can read and listen at the same time, which makes it easier to understand.
8. I used Natural Readers to practice my pronunciation. I wrote a short text about how my day at work had gone, recorded myself first, then ran it through the website and noticed that I was mispronouncing some words.

ReplyDelete1. I opened the link and chose a song I like, "Die with a Smile" by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. I chose the beginner difficulty level with 42 words.
2. I have several difficulties with English, but the biggest ones are speaking and grammar. I can't; it's very complicated for me. When I try to speak, the words don't come to me, and I get confused. When I try to write, I can't connect words because I don't know grammar. My strategies to improve are:
1. Recording myself speaking English to get used to it.
2. Talking with friends who know English.
3. Doing exercises to identify grammatical errors.
4. Researching and learning grammar on my own.
5. Using English words when speaking.
3. I took a test on the simple past tense. I didn't learn much because I need more in-depth study of the topic, as I already see I'm struggling with it. However, I'm good with regular and irregular verbs.
4. I used ESL videos and chose a video called "Birthdays and Phone Numbers." I did well in both aspects and practiced the pronunciation.
5. I used Languatalk and found it to be a very good tool. I chose to talk to an AI named Brian, and it asked me about my personal interests and goals. It guided me in answering, gave me hints, and I succeeded.
6. I used ESL Labs and did a listening activity. It was a conversation between two people, and I had to answer questions based on what was being said in the audio.
7. I read and listened to "Missing Cat," about a woman whose cat had gone missing. She was desperate to find it, so she asked the police for help, but they refused. Then she paid a lot of money for a billboard with her phone number, and she still hasn't found her cat.
8. I used Natural Readers and asked Alonso to tell me a story. He did, and then I recorded myself reading it in English.

ReplyDelete1. In this link, I practiced listening through songs. In this case, I listened to the song “Do I Wanna Know?” by Arctic Monkeys. At an easy level, I was able to complete the exercise.
2. Some difficulties I have with learning English are vocabulary, pronunciation, and listening comprehension. These are 5 strategies I will include in my personal plan of work:
-Put new words and their definitions on individual cards with example sentences.
-Compose sentences with the new vocabulary in different contexts.

3. I entered English Page. On this website, I completed an exercise about filling in past tense verbs in different sentences. I learned and reviewed the forms of some regular and irregular verbs in different contexts.
4. I watched a trailer for the movie Venom. My listening and pronunciation skills were not very good because I made many mistakes, especially with pronunciation.
5. I used Stimuler. I practiced pronunciation and grammar with everyday-life sentences. With the feedback from this AI, I think it is a very good tool.
6. I entered SL Labs and completed an activity about listening to an audio and answering questions. At a basic level, I got 4 out of 5 correct answers.
7. I chose the story “A Missing Cat.” In summary, Mrs. Brown lost her cat, Clyde, and became very worried because he did not return home after more than a month. She asked the police for help, but they told her they could not report missing pets. Later, she paid for a billboard with Clyde’s picture to help find him. After one month, Clyde still had not appeared, and Mrs. Brown asked for help to keep the billboard longer.
8. By comparing my pronunciation, I realized that many words are pronounced differently from what I thought. This helped me understand that I should first look up the correct pronunciation and then practice it instead of just improvising.

ReplyDelete1) I chose the song Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra. I really enjoy rock music because I like the energy and rhythm of the songs. Completing the lyrics helped me improve my listening skills and understand new vocabulary.
2) My main difficulties with English are pronunciation and vocabulary. These are the five strategies I will include in my personal plan of work:
- Using flashcards to learn new vocabulary.
- Watching videos in English with subtitles.
- Practicing pronunciation with audio tools.

3) I entered a website to practice grammar exercises about the past tense and irregular verbs. I learned how to use irregular verbs correctly in sentences and questions. I also reviewed the difference between regular and irregular verbs in the simple past tense.
4) I chose a lesson related to music and video games. I watched a video in English and completed listening and vocabulary activities. My listening skills were good when I recognized familiar words, but I still need to improve my pronunciation and fluency.
5) I explored ChatGPT as an AI app for practicing English. I practiced conversations, vocabulary, and sentence correction. It helped me improve my writing and understand how to express ideas more naturally in English.

7) I listened to the story A Murder-Suicide. The story was about a tragic situation involving crime and emotional conflict. It was interesting because it used suspense and descriptive language that helped me learn new vocabulary and improve my listening comprehension.

4. I registered on BBC Learning English and watched a video about free time activities. I understood most of the content, but I repeated some parts to improve comprehension. Practicing pronunciation by repeating sentences helped me feel more confident.
5. I explored Elsa Speak to practice speaking. I practiced pronunciation and short conversations. The app corrected my mistakes and gave immediate feedback, which helped me improve my fluency and pronunciation.
6. I chose a listening activity from Elllo.org. The topic was about daily life. The activity helped me identify main ideas and improve my listening comprehension.
7. I listened to and read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” The story is about a boy who lies many times about a wolf, but when the wolf really appears, nobody believes him. It teaches an important lesson about honesty.

ReplyDelete1. I entered Lyrics Training. Then, I listened to and completed the intermediate-level song “Beauty and a Beat” by Justin Bieber, because ever since Coachella, I can’t stop listening to it. He’s not my favorite artist, but it does bring back a lot of nostalgia for me.
2. The most difficult aspects of learning English for me are writing and listening. I think these strategies would help me:

2. I have a lot of difficulty speaking and listening in English. My 5 recommendations to improve are:

3. I went to the English-hilfen website. I completed several exercises, such as those on quantifiers, adjectives and adverbs, the articles a, an, and el, and the simple present tense.
4. I watched the video about family conversations on the ELS Videos website. I need to improve my listening and pronunciation skills. I had a lot of difficulty with pronunciation.
5. Last semester I used the AI Stimuler, and I liked it quite a lot, so I'll continue using it this semester.
6. I used the ESL-LAB website, where I completed the exercise of listening to the recording and answering the questions on the topic "A Day at School."
7. I went to the Listen and Read Short Story website and listened to the story "Sarah Went Shopping."
8. Since last semester I've been using Natural Read, and it's a tool that has helped me a lot in preparing for the oral exam and my personal study plan for last year.
